The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has voiced strong opposition to the Department of School Education (DoSE) notification issued on August 22 regarding rationalization of teachers.

In a representation to the Principal Director of School Education, ENSF said that the order has triggered large-scale transfers without relievers, despite the acute shortage of teachers in schools across the Eastern region. “This decision is unjust, insensitive, and severely detrimental to the education of students in our region,” the federation stated.

The student body appealed that teachers who have been transferred should be retained until suitable replacements are posted. “The Eastern region is already grappling with inadequate teaching staff, and such measures only aggravate the existing challenges,” ENSF said.

It further urged the department to ensure that no transfer is carried out without a substitute. Stressing that education is a fundamental right, the federation asserted it would not allow even a single teacher to be relieved without replacement and vowed to continue raising its concerns.

Reaffirming its role as the apex student body of the Eastern region, ENSF called for urgent intervention by the department to safeguard the academic future of students.
