The Ao Lanur Telungjem (ALT) has declared its support and solidarity with the Ungma Statement adopted on August 23, 2025, during the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) meeting under the banner of the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship (CNCR).
The ALT said the coming together of 34 tribal hohos and 16 Naga political groups, hosted by Ao Senden, “marks a new beginning towards reconciliation with a pledge to pursue a shared common political vision.”
In its statement, ALT observed that “fragmentation and division” caused by those in power and leaders with narrow outlooks have left Naga society divided on multiple fronts. It warned that “the watchful eyes of the youths and the upcoming generation will hold leaders of NPGs and Tribal Hohos accountable for failing to rise to the challenges when it is within their power to bring about the necessary change at this critical crossroad of transition for Naga society.”

Calling the Ungma Statement a defining moment, ALT asserted that the day should be remembered as the time when the Naga people chose “convergence over fragmentation, vision over rhetoric, and future over fear.”
The organisation further stressed the need for leaders “with moral integrity and wisdom, coupled with courage and statesmanship” to take the Naga political process forward.
The statement was signed by Convenor Imnaonen Pongen and Co-Convenor Tia Longchar of the Ao Lanur Telongjem.
