The MoU was exchanged at the Bamboo Hall in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, during a ceremony attended by state officials, company representatives and community leaders.

Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, who witnessed the signing, thanked Toyota Kirloskar for selecting Nagaland as a key focus area for its CSR interventions. He said the company’s role as a health partner would help the state address longstanding gaps in medical infrastructure.

“Our healthcare system is not in place due to geographical isolation and lack of facilities,” Rio said. Expressing optimism, he added that the initiative would “bring change in the life of the people” by improving public health services, enhancing learning opportunities and creating long-term social impact.

Sudeep Santram Dalvi, Director, Project SVP & CCO at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the company’s involvement in the region is guided by a commitment to “meaningful socio-economic development.” As it expands its engagement with Nagaland, Toyota aims to prioritize both education and health, he said.

“Nagaland has our biggest priority, and we hope families and children will be benefitted through our initiatives,” Dalvi noted.

The event began with introductory remarks by Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN. The MoU was formally signed by Chief Minister Dr. Rio and Dalvi on behalf of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

The partnership is expected to enable targeted investments in critical infrastructure, especially in underserved districts, as part of Toyota’s broader CSR mandate in India.
