Japheth Woch, Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, has notified that certain individuals and groups in the district are engaging in illegal money lending without obtaining a licence from the concerned authority under the Nagaland Money Lenders Act 2005.
The DC has directed all residents that operating money lending activities without a valid licence is prohibited under the Act. He warned that those found engaging in such activities without a licence, or violating the terms of a licence, shall be liable for punishment, including imprisonment of up to six months or a fine of up to Rs. 2,500, or both.
