The Department of Food & Civil Supplies, Government of Nagaland, has directed all Fair Price Shops, including Village Council-run outlets under the National Food Security Act, to strictly comply with guidelines under the SMART PDS programme.
In an advisory, the department stated that since the rollout of SMART PDS in May last year, the use of ePoS devices for all transactions has been made mandatory. It also emphasised the need for proper recording of undistributed food grains and completion of e-KYC for all beneficiaries as per NFSA provisions.
The department further asked all ration card holders to complete their e-KYC by April 30, failing which their subsidy entitlements may be suspended.
