During an interaction at PHC Seyochung HQ, the Medical Officer thanked Sangtam for the timely donation and said the health centre frequently faces shortages of medicines despite support from the Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire.

The Medical Officer stated that the staff continue to serve the people despite various challenges faced in the rural healthcare sector.

Interacting with health workers, Sangtam appreciated their dedication and acknowledged the difficulties of serving in remote areas. “Serving in rural places is not easy, but the commitment shown by the staff is encouraging,” he said.

He also called for greater community participation in strengthening the healthcare sector, stating that the growth of the hospital is a shared responsibility. “When healthcare improves, society naturally progresses,” he added.

Sangtam later visited St. Mary High School, Seyochung HQ, where he donated medicines for students. During the interaction, school authorities highlighted challenges faced by the institution, particularly poor network connectivity in the area.

The Headmaster said most school-related work is now carried out digitally, making it difficult for the institution to function smoothly because of network issues.

In response, Sangtam assured the school authorities that he would raise the matter with the concerned authorities. He also appreciated the contribution of teachers towards education in the area and assured continued support for the school in the future.
