Officials of Akehda Amulung and BBA internship students from St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, participated in the meeting, which focused on the implementation of the PM SVANidhi scheme and the importance of financial inclusion for street vendors. The students were briefed on banking services, loan facilities and welfare schemes available to small vendors and entrepreneurs.
Akehda Amulung informed that the students are conducting a baseline survey of street vendors in Kiphire town to identify eligible beneficiaries, assess their socio-economic conditions and evaluate their access to government schemes.
The PM SVANidhi scheme, extended until March 2030, provides collateral-free working capital loans of Rs 10,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 50,000 in phases, along with a 7 per cent interest subsidy for timely repayment.
