Mokokchung, July 16 (MTNews): District Administration, Police and Forest Department officials of Nagaland’s Mokokchung district and Assam’s Jorhat district on Saturday held an ‘inter-district coordination meeting’ to discuss various issues along the inter-state border. The meeting was held at the R.K. School Conference Hall, Tuli.

An update from the DPRO Mokokchung informed that, during the meeting, the officials discussed several pertinent issues including maintenance of peace and tranquility at the inter-state border of Mokokchung and Jorhat districts and resolved to continue extending support and cooperation to each other in maintaining the status quo.

 

According to the update, during the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung urged the Jorhat district administration to refrain from taking unilateral actions which may aggravate tension and create a law and order situation along the border.

 

Mokokchung district was represented by Deputy Commissioner Shashank Pratap Singh IAS, Superintendent of Police Aotula T Imchen IPS, and Divisional Forest Officer Sentitula IFoS along with ADC Tuli, ADC Mangkolemba, EAC Longchem, SDPO Tuli and SDPO Mangkolemba. Jorhat district was represented by Deputy Commissioner AK Barman, Superintendent of Police Mohanlal Meena IPS, DFO Nandkumaran IFoS, ADC Jorhat, Circle Officer Mariani, Circle Officer Teok, SDO (C) and SDPO Titabor, the update said. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Tuli ADC Shaying Sheau, it added.
