Chumlamo Humtsoe, NCS, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Returning Officer (RO) from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, has officially issued a notice for nominations for elections to the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC).
The notice specifies that elections will be held for members of Ward Nos. 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 18 of the Mokokchung Town Municipality with Ward Nos. 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, and 16 reserved for women.
Nomination papers can be submitted by candidates or their proposers to the Office Chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner and RO, Mokokchung, or to Abeinuo Jasmine Ashai, SDO (C) Mokokchung and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), Mokokchung Municipal Council, or to Seyievilie Pfukri, EAC, Kobulong and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), Mokokchung Municipal Council at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung. The papers can be delivered between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on any day (excluding public holidays) from June 7, 2024 (Friday) onwards but not later than 3:00 pm of June 11, 2024 (Tuesday).

Forms for nomination papers may be obtained at the aforesaid place and times. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on June 13, 2024 (Thursday) at the office of the ADC (Hq) & RO, Mokokchung Municipal Council starting from 11:00 AM.
Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations can do so by delivering a notice of withdrawal, either personally or through their proposer or election agent, who has been authorized in writing by the candidate, to the specified office before 3:00 PM on June 18, 2024 (Tuesday).
If the election is contested, the polling will take place on June 26, 2024 (Wednesday) between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm.
