Sentiyanger Pongen, Additional Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Nagaland, accompanied by Er Nuhuta Tetseo, SDO, Engineering Wing, Higher Education, visited Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, on May 15 as part of the inspection of PM-USHA projects in government colleges across Nagaland.

During the visit, a brief interactive session was held with the teaching and non-teaching faculty members at the college conference hall.
Principal of FAC, Dr I Wati Imchen, highlighted various issues and challenges faced by the institution, stating that the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 requires additional resources, manpower, and responsibilities. He urged the department to formulate a state-level roadmap for NEP 2020 implementation and appealed for greater institutional support to enable the college to contribute more effectively to academics and society.
Faculty members also raised their grievances and concerns during the interaction.
Responding to the issues raised, Sentiyanger Pongen assured the faculty that matters relating to the needs of the institution would be looked into, noting that many of the concerns were common across government colleges in Nagaland.
He encouraged faculty members to share their advice and suggestions for the betterment of both the institution and the department.
The interaction was described as an encouraging engagement for the college and reflected the Additional Secretary’s interest in strengthening higher education in the state.
