Kohima, December 4 (MTNews): All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey today launched FIFA Football for Schools for Nagaland state at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima in the presence of Nagaland’s youth resources & sports advisor Er. Zale Neikha, officials of Nagaland Football Association (NFA), Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and youth resources and sports department.
Speaking at the event, Chaubey expressed his desire to see the state produce quality football players through the FIFA Football for Schools.
He said that NFA and the state government need to have proper monitoring system to make it happen.
The AIFF president also assured to provide all possible support and to ensure that the young boys and girls of Nagaland get proper scientific technical football training.
Also expressing happiness over the efforts of the youth resources & sports department and school education, he also maintained that Nagaland’s chief minister Neiphiu Rio has a vision for children of Nagaland to become successful sportspersons.
“I am here to support you to become football player,” he told the children gathered at the launching program.
He also challenged them to dream to play football at the highest level.
He was optimistic that they can become star football player and bring pride to the community.
Visiting Nagaland for the first time, Chaubey was accompanied by AIFF treasurer Kipa Ajay.
Later in the day, he addressed the annual general meeting of NFA.
Chaubey will grace the cultural events of Hornbill Festival on December 5 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
