Dimapur, 15 June (MTNews): The second day of the All Nagaland Inter College Basketball Tourney being played at the JV Rise Basketball Court, Dimapur, witnessed close contests in the league round, with the semi-final lineup in the Men’s category confirmed.

Immanuel College Dimapur will take on Oriental College Kohima in the first semi-final, while SASRD Medziphema will be pitted against NIT Dimapur in the second semis. 12 first round matches featuring 10 colleges/teams decided the semi-finalists.

 

The finalists in the women’s category will be decided Friday morning with two league-round matches yet to be played. As of today, Kohima Science College and Sazolie College Kohima head the leaderboard.

 

The winners in both men’s and women’s categories will take home Rs.40,000 each; the runner-up will be awarded 25,000 each, along with trophies. Cash awards will also be given to semi-finalists and top individual players.

 

S Keoshu Yimkhiung, Advisor, Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, will grace the closing ceremony as the special guest.

 

The tournament is being sponsored by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports and hosted by the Dimapur District Basketball Association.
