The Ao Senden has issued a strong statement addressing the actions of the NSCN (Khango-Hokato) regarding their demand for accountability in the implementation of the Micro and Small Enterprises Common Development Program (MSE-CDP). The NSCN (Khango-Hokato) had reportedly demanded the submission of cash vouchers and invoices for all machinery purchased under the program by Aolemba Longkumer.
Clarifying the matter, the Ao Senden stated that Aolemba Longkumer is “only a part of the program” and emphasized that “the success and failure of the program does not solely depend upon him but collectively.” It further noted that both Aolemba and the concerned department have already provided clarification on the status of the program.
“The NSCN (Khango-Hokato) must realize that he is not the sole contractor of the program and must stop persecuting him,” the Ao Senden asserted. The organization also warned that it “will not lie idle but take necessary measures when our bona fide citizens are being irrationally persecuted by any Naga political factions either by deeds or in words.”
Calling for an immediate end to the persecution, the Ao Senden stated, “NSCN (Khango-Hokato) is asked to stop the persecution of Aolemba Longkumer immediately and stop testing the patience of the Ao Naga Community.” The statement urged Naga political factions to allow the “machineries of the Government of India and the State Government of Nagaland” to carry out their duties in addressing any corruption, adding that “NSCN (Khango-Hokato) must not act as the Government’s watchdog.”
Additionally, the Ao Senden called on the Government of Nagaland to “uphold the rule of law” and take immediate protective measures to shield citizens from undue duress by political factions during the implementation of government-sponsored schemes.
The statement was signed by Ao Senden President Marsanen Imsong and General Secretary Imtipokyim.
