‘Asetkong Community Piggery Project’
Beneficiaries of Longpa village receive piglets under the 23 Impur Assembly Constituency Asetkong Range Community Piggery Project.

More than 150 piglets intended for breeding have been distributed, including 134 female and 19 male piglets. In due course, the piglets are expected to mature into breeding sows and boars, contributing to sustained piglet production, piggery development and income generation for beneficiaries.

Each beneficiary has also been provided five CGI sheets to construct pigsties, indicating a focus on long term development.

The distribution covers multiple villages, including Yisemyong, Yimchalu, Süngratsü, Molungkong, Mopungchuket, Longjang, Khanimo, Longpa, Kobulong and Chami, with varying allocations of breeding sows and boars.

An orientation session for beneficiaries will be held after the launch programme at Kobulong. Veterinary experts Dr Simon Ao and Dr Sarendi Walling will serve as resource persons, providing technical guidance on piggery management and breeding practices.

The initiative is expected to strengthen rural income generation and support community-based livestock development in the constituency.
