Mokokchung, April 25 (MTNews): Block Level Health Mela in commemoration of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav was held today at Sabangya PHC, Mokokchung.
Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, DC Mokokchung while inaugurating the Health Mela stated that it is being conducted in celebration of the country’s 75 years of independence. He further cited that all health services and awareness in relation to health and other programs will be delivered to the public through this mela. He expressed that every person should consider health check up once a year and also advocated the importance of Government schemes like AB-PMJAY, which provides free assistance to the needy in selected health services in both Private and Government Hospitals throughout the country.
Dr. R. Chubala Aier, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung in her short speech stated that the Government of India introduced this health mela with the target of improving the health status of the population. She further said that health facilitators are trying their best to bring services to the doorsteps of the community. She urged the community for support stating that collective ownership of health facilities would benefit the public.
A short speech was delivered by Watinungsang, HCMC member PHC Sabangya and Aliba Village Council. Vote of thanks was delivered by Sangpangchang Longkumer, EAC Ongpangkong South. The Program was chaired by Dr. Ayangla Saku, DPO (RCH&UIP).
Services provided during the mela were: Medicine, Ortho, Dermatologist, ENT, Ayush, Opthamology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Dental, and Audiometric. Other services also included HIV test, Malaria, Ayushman Bharat Card, Health ID Generation card, Yoga class, Health Talk, Tobacco awareness & Food Safety awareness, services from Social Welfare and Rural Development, School education and Childline. Free medicine and Spectacles were also provided to the treated persons.
Altogether 438 persons availed the services provided.
