Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, launched two important initiatives in Mon District on March 11, 2025.

The day began with the inauguration of the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) at Mon, a project sponsored by HDFC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and implemented by AROH Foundation in collaboration with the District Administration. The program was officially launched by Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, who inaugurated a Smart Classroom at Government High School, Mon, followed by the official program at the Council Hall of Mon village.
Advisor Wangpang Konyak emphasized that HRDP is more than just a project; it represents a vehicle for social and economic transformation.
He also expressed gratitude to HDFC and AROH Foundation for their commitment to inclusive development and urged Village Council Chairpersons (VCCs) and residents to take responsibility for the newly developed infrastructure.
Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, highlighted the project’s vision of transforming villages by prioritizing infrastructure development in Mon District, which is still in need of essential facilities. Special recognition was given to elected representatives for their continued support in development initiatives. Angin Konyak, from AROH Foundation, outlined the HRDP’s objectives of bringing holistic improvements across sectors in 15 villages across Mon, Tizit, and Chen blocks, aiming to impact the region over the next three years.
Later that day, Advisor Wangpang Konyak handed over two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to the District Hospital, Mon, as part of NHPC Ltd.’s CSR support. Konyak lauded NHPC Ltd. for their timely contribution, which will save lives in the district. He also thanked Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma and Minister for Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, for their efforts in improving Mon’s healthcare system.
