The results of the 2024 University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), announced on February 22, 2025, saw 43 students from Nagaland University qualify in key categories, including Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), NET for Assistant Professor, and NET for Admission to PhD programs. UGC-NET is an important examination for those seeking careers in teaching and research in higher education.

Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. J.K. Patnaik, congratulated the students, emphasizing, “The success of these students highlights their individual academic excellence and also reflects the overall academic rigor and research potential of Nagaland University. It underscores the university’s commitment to fostering an environment that supports higher learning and research, preparing the students for careers in academia, research, and teaching.”

The 43 successful candidates represent 12 different departments of the university. Of them, two students qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), a prestigious opportunity for full-time research in their chosen fields. Additionally, 29 students passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor, making them eligible for teaching roles in higher education. Twelve students qualified for NET in the Admission to PhD category, enabling them to pursue doctoral studies and engage in advanced academic research.
