Dimapur, 16 May (MTNews): A State Level Workshop titled “Office Practices and Library Management: Requirements for NAAC Assessment” was held on 16 May at Dimapur Government College.

 

 

The workshop was jointly organized by the Internal Quality Assessment Cells (IQAC) of Dimapur Government College and Unity College, Dimapur under the Professional and Development Program for Non-Teaching Staff.

 

The workshop had three sessions. The first session was chaired by Dr Vinyuhu Lhoungu, Coordinator, IQAC, DGC. The Resource Person was Niketu Siam, Senior Librarian, DGC who spoke on the topic “General Library Operations”.

 

The second session was chaired by Dr Maongkala Longchar, Assistant Professor and Member IQAC, DGC. The Resource Person for this session was Ashok Kumar Jain, Senior Head Assistant, DGC, who spoke on the topic “Office Procedure and Management”.

 

The third session was chaired by Dr. Temjenwabang, Assistant Professor and Member, IQAC, Unity College, Dimapur. The Resource Person was Ms. Martha T., Coordinator, IQAC of St. Xavier College, Jalukie, Peren, who spoke on the topic “Finance and Accounts”.

 

The Rapporteurs for the Workshop were Dr Tabussum Khan, Asst.Prof. and Member IQAC, Unity College, Ms. Azungla Imsong, Asst.Prof. and Member IQAC, Unity College and Ms. Selina Walling, Asst. Prof. and Member IQAC, DGC.

 

The Principal of DGC, Professor Sanjay Sharma, speaking in the inaugural session, laid emphasis on the importance of good office practices and library management. Such workshops were required not only for non-teaching staff but also for faculty and administrators of higher educational institutions as well, to be better equipped for NAAC assessment. He congratulated the organizing team and expressed hope that the Workshop would be a fruitful one.

 

The workshop was well attended by non-teaching staff from 24 colleges all over the State.
