Dimapur Police seize 19,760 bottles of suspected

Acting on credible intelligence, a team from the Sub-Urban Police Station raided the warehouse at House No. 23-B after the tenant failed to respond to repeated calls. The locked premises were opened under the supervision of ACP (West), with independent local witnesses present. The search was digitally documented through the e-Sakshya platform.

Police recovered 126 cartons containing the suspected contraband. Of these, 101 cartons contained 16,160 bottles of Bescod Cough Syrup, while 25 cartons contained 3,600 bottles of EB-DYL Cough Syrup. Several other unaccounted pharmaceutical products were also taken into safe custody for verification.

A suo motu case has been registered at SBN Police Station under C/No. 046/26 and Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act. Police said an investigation is underway to identify those operating the warehouse, trace the supply chain and dismantle the local distribution network.

Dimapur Police appealed to the public and civil society organisations to share information on the sale of narcotic drugs with the nearest police station, assuring that informants’ identities would be kept confidential.
