The Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland has announced that the draft photo electoral roll was published on 29th October 2024 for all 60 (sixty) Assembly Constituencies in Nagaland by the respective Electoral Registration Officers.

The Electors-Population (EP) ratio of the State is 534, and the Elector Gender ratio stands at 1009 as per the published draft roll.

The period for filing claims and objections will be from 29th October 2024 to 28th November 2024. Special camps will be held at all polling stations on 8th November 2024 (Friday) and 9th November 2024 (Saturday), as well as on 22nd November 2024 (Friday) and 23rd November 2024 (Saturday) for receiving claims and objections.

Citizens can file claims and objections with the concerned Booth Level Officer or with the AERO and ERO. Forms are available for download on the ECI and CEO’s websites. Online applications can also be submitted through voters.eci.gov.in (links are provided on the ECI and CEO’s websites) or via the VHA (Voter Helpline App), which is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The final photo electoral roll will be published on 10th January 2025.

Draft electoral rolls released for constituencies under Mokokchung district

In Mokokchung, the Draft Electoral Rolls for all 10 (ten) constituencies under Mokokchung District were released at the DC’s Conference Room on 29th October 2024. The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DC & DEO) of Mokokchung announced that the Draft Electoral Rolls will be open for filing claims, objections, and the inclusion of names from 29th October 2024 to 28th November 2024. The DC & DEO appealed to the representatives of the political parties present to ensure transparency and maintain an error-free electoral roll for healthy elections in the future. During the program, the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer (ADC & ERO) of Mokokchung also urged to filter out bogus photos from the electoral rolls.

Notice issued on claims and objection for Draft Electoral Roll Publication in Mokokchung District

Additional Deputy Commissioner & Electoral Registration Officer (ADC & ERO) of Mokokchung Chumlamo Huntsoe has informed on a Draft Publication of Electoral Roll in draft for the electors  of 21 Tuli, 22 Arkakong, 23Impur, 24 Angetyongpang, 25 Mongoya, 26 Aonglenden, 27-Mokokchung Town, 28 Koridang, 29 Jangpetkong and 30 Alongdaki is hereby given notice that the Electoral has been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 and a copy available for inspection at ADC office and at every designated location/polling station during office hours.

The qualifying date for the preparation of the Electoral Roll is 1st January 202. If with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before the 28th November 2024 in form-6,7, or 8 as may be appropriate.

Every such claims and objection should either be presented in ADC & ERO office or to respective Booth Level Officer (BLO)/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer AERO) or send by post to the given address so as to reach in time.

An eligible citizen, who is going to attain the age of eighteen years on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the year 2025, the 1st April, 2025, the 1st July, 2025 or the 1st October, 2025 may also file his or her claim for inclusion of their names in the roll, in form-6, in advance starting from the date of notice, and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
