Dimapur, 2 March (MTNews): The funeral service for the late Er Ghukhui Zhimomi, a founding member of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB), was held at his residence in Diphupar B Relkameno on 2 March 2024. Sedevikho Khro, Chairman of NSSB, expressed deep condolences to the family on Zhimomi’s sudden demise on 29 February, 2024.

Khro highlighted Zhimomi’s pivotal role during the establishment of NSSB in 2020, emphasizing the need for capable individuals to ensure an effective, transparent, and merit-based recruitment system. Zhimomi was appointed as one of the founding members on 14 February 2021, and assumed office on 18 February 2021.

Zhimomi played a crucial role in overseeing the successful conduct of NSSB’s inaugural examination in 2022, the largest ever conducted in Nagaland, with over 50,000 candidates across 11 districts and 111 examination centers. He remained actively involved in NSSB’s formulation and functioning until his passing, known for his commitment to integrity, accountability, and support for colleagues.

Khro highlighted Zhimomi’s extensive career as an engineer in the former Irrigation and Flood Control Department, opting for voluntary retirement on December 19, 2011, to engage more actively in public service. With Zhimomi’s passing on February 29, 2024, NSSB mourns the loss of a brother, friend, guide, and pillar of strength.

Khro conveyed his deepest sympathy to Zhimomi’s bereaved family, acknowledging that mere words cannot assuage their grief. He expressed prayers for heavenly peace, comfort, and strength during this difficult time, hoping that Zhimomi’s soul may rest in peace.
