The GHS Dilong, Mokokchung observed the World Environment Day on 4th June 2022 on the theme “Only One Earth” with Tzuwar, Sr. G/Teacher as the main speaker who with his brief speech impressed all the staff and the students, an update from the school said.
“He advised to protect the environment without which our survival and need of oxygen will be impacted by the over population and technological lightning developments all over the world,” the update read.
“Land, water and all natural resources will be hampered and become insufficient in due course of time. Unless we care for the environment and plant more and more trees in our surroundings; If we cut one tree, we need to plant 100 trees as an alternative without which our only Earth will be inhospitable and it cannot sustain the human beings anymore….” he was quoted as saying.
“After the function, students and teachers planted about 50 ornamentals in the school surrounding which were received from DFO Mokokchung,” it was informed.
