Gorkha Baptist Churches of Nagaland host 4th Biennial Youth Conference

The 4th Biennial Youth Conference of the Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland began at the WSBAK Millennium Hall in Daniel Village, Doyapur, Chümoukedima District, on October 11, with the theme “Growing Stronger and Reaching Higher.” More than 500 delegates and officials from 54 Gorkha Baptist Churches and Fellowships in Nagaland are attending the three-day event.


Day 1 commenced with an evening session. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Gorkha Baptist Church Diphupar Youth Department, while worship was led by the Nepali Baptist Church Tuensang Youth Department. K Nifato Chishi, Secretary of the Department of Youth Ministry WSBAK, was the speaker during the opening service. In his sermon, he addressed the behavioral problems of young people and urged Gorkha youths to have faith in God. He emphasized the importance of self-reflection, advising them not to blame others or society, but rather to take responsibility for their actions. He also encouraged the youth not to become frustrated in life but to remain rooted in Christ and mature as Christian youths to grow stronger and reach higher.

Dr Gopal Basnet, Council Chairman of AGBCN, stated in his speech that the Christian Gorkha youths of Nagaland are growing stronger in Christ. He encouraged the youth to be vigilant, as they are the future. He urged them to be a strong backbone for one another.

Special songs were presented by the Nepali Baptist Church Zubza and Gorkha Baptist Church Piphema. Shishir Lama, Youth Secretary of the Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland, shared a welcome greeting note. The function was chaired by Suresh Thapa, Youth Pastor of the Nepali Baptist Church Kiphire, while Pastor Daniel Biswakarma, the Camp Director of the Youth Conference, conducted the orientation session.

In total, 37 Gorkha Baptist Churches from Nagaland are participating in the 4th Biennial Youth Conference of AGBCN, which will be held from October 9 to 11. The conference is hosted by AGBCN YD.
