The northeastern states are forecasted to experience heavy rains and thunderstorms over the next five days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a rain-triggering cyclonic circulation is positioned over Assam, while another is located over Bangladesh. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from Bangladesh to the Bay of Bengal.

The convergence of these weather systems is expected to result in significant precipitation across northeastern India this week. As per the forecast, light to moderate rainfall or snow is anticipated in most parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till Thursday.

The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds across the seven states during this period.
