The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to kick off in the Caribbean and the USA starting June 1, 2024. All 20 teams participating in the prestigious event have been instructed to submit their provisional squads by May 1.
While the West Indies previously hosted the T20 World Cup in 2010, with England emerging victorious, this year marks the USA’s debut as co-hosts. The tournament will draw to a close on June 29.

On Monday, the 2021 edition’s runner-up, New Zealand, became the first team to name their final 15 for the tournament, also launching their jersey for the T20 World Cup.

Attention now turns to the squad announcements of key contenders like the host nation West Indies, defending champions England, reigning 2021 winners Australia, and Asian powerhouses India and Pakistan. All eyes are on these teams as they finalize their lineups for the tournament.

New Zealand – Kane Williamson (c), Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee.

The squads of the other 19 teams – Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United States, and West Indies – are yet to be announced.

India to announce squad today

The much-awaited announcement of India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup is imminent, with the BCCI scheduled to announce the 15-member roster in an Ahmedabad meeting on Tuesday, April 30. Rohit Sharma is poised to lead the team, while all attention is on the potential inclusions of Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli, especially considering Pant’s return after a hiatus due to a near-fatal accident in December 2022.

Led by Ajit Agarkar, the selection committee has been closely monitoring players’ performances in the ongoing IPL, although reports suggest that selection will be based on overall merit rather than IPL 2024 performances alone.
