The International Day of Older Persons 2024, under the theme “Aging with Dignity,” was observed at IMDH, Mokokchung, organized by NP-NCD Mokokchung in collaboration with IMDH, Mokokchung.


On the occasion, T Temsusenla Aier, Principal of the School of Nursing, IMDH, addressed the significance of the day. She emphasized that aging is a natural and inevitable process. She added that the day offers an opportunity to recognize the contributions, wisdom, dignity, and needs of our senior citizens, encouraging a renewed dedication to ensuring their well-being. She also mentioned important topics like old age homes, pensions for the elderly, and the protection of life and property.

Dr Limanaro, DIO & NP-NCD in-charge, provided an overview of the program, stating that the day is observed to honor older persons. She emphasized the importance for health workers to understand the well-being of the elderly, as they will encounter many in their work. She also mentioned the line listings of elderly persons in health units who receive special care and encouraged all participants to offer better and more quality services to them.

A session on elderly healthcare was delivered by Dr Lipokyanger, Ophthalmologist at IMDH, while the program was chaired by Dr Aosemba, MO, NPCDCS.

  2. One thing I’ve noticed is that there are plenty of misguided beliefs regarding the banking institutions intentions whenever talking about property foreclosure. One fairy tale in particular is the bank would like your house. Your banker wants your hard earned money, not your property. They want the funds they gave you with interest. Steering clear of the bank will draw a foreclosed final result. Thanks for your publication.
