Ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament House, Nagaland’s Tourism and Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along shrugged off Rahul Gandhi’s comments stating what’s better than to see the Prime Minister inaugurate it.

“The parliament is the temple of the people. What’s more than to see our honorable PM inaugurate it,” Along said at the sidelines of an event he was attending in Lucknow on Sunday. “He (Modi) is the true representative of the people of the nation,” Along added.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had on Sunday said that the President should inaugurate the newly-constructed Parliament building and not the Prime Minister.

“The country has seen PM Modi’s vision and the people of the country will vote for only him. Whatever the policy of Congress will be, it will not have any effect,” Along told ANI on Congress’ win in Karnataka.

“If Congress thinks that because of its victory in Karnataka, they will be able to win again in 2024, then that is not true,” the Nagaland BJP President said.

Along is in Lucknow attending an interactive seminar and lecture series on “Diversity in Unity” organized by Youth in Action as the Chief Speaker.

Notably, PM Modi will be dedicating the newly-constructed Parliament building to the country on 28 May.

A Lok Sabha release said that construction of the New Parliament Building in the national capital has been completed and symbolizes the spirit of self-reliant India.

The foundation stone of the new building of Parliament was laid by Prime Minister Modi on 10December, 2020. The newly constructed Parliament building has been built “in record time with quality construction.”

The release said that the newly-constructed building of Parliament, which will further enrich India’s glorious democratic traditions and constitutional values, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities which will help the Members to perform their functions in a better way. It said 888 members will be able to sit in the Lok Sabha. In the present building of the Parliament, there is a provision for the sitting of 543 members in the Lok Sabha and 250 in the Rajya Sabha.

Keeping in view the future requirements, arrangements have been made for a meeting of 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 384 members in the Rajya Sabha in the newly constructed building of the Parliament. The joint session of both Houses will be held in the Lok Sabha Chamber.

At present, the Constitution of India allows for a maximum of 550 members in the Lok Sabha, with 530 members representing the States and 20 representing the Union Territories. The Rajya Sabha is to consist of not more than 250 members, with 238 members representing the States and Union Territories, and 12 members nominated by the President.

  1. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any techniques to help stop content from being ripped off? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
