TAJCF express dismay over differences among Naga groups
Mokokchung, June 18 (MTNews): The Tuli Area Joint Council Forum (TAJCF) announced today that it has resolved to strongly support and give full cooperation during the proposed protest organized by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Ltd (NPPCL) workers and pensioners union.
It may be recalled that the JAC of NPPCL Workers Union and NPPCL Pensioners Union had earlier on June 10 informed the chief minister of Nagaland that they would be organizing a protest at Tzudikong from August 12, 2022. As reported by this newspaper on June 15, hundreds of workers of NPPCL have not received their salaries/wages since August 2017 till date and the superannuated employees and the families of deceased are yet to receive their pensionary dues from the month of September 2015, against which the JAC is protesting.
In a press release issued by TAJCF, apart from declaring their support and cooperation to the JAC, the forum also appealed to the concerned authorities to initiate necessary steps to solve the grievances of the NPPCL employees, workers and pensioners “before the situation worsens.”
Further, the forum also said that it discussed about the ongoing political talks between the Government of India and different negotiating Naga groups and expressed dismay over differences among the Naga negotiating groups creating confusion among the general Naga public. “As such, the TAJCF urges all the factions group and civil societies to get together and voice out a common slogan,” it said. The TAJCF also expressed unhappiness towards GoI for “playing delayed tactic policy.”

The release said that this was resolved at an emergency meeting of TAJCF held on June 13 at Tuli town which was attended by all its 16 units. It was also mentioned that the meeting resolved to “reaffirm against corruption and unabated taxation, which was resolved earlier on October 23, 2014.” As such, the press releases stated that all the units are directed to be vigilant against such activities in their own units.
