G Kaito Aye, Minister for Road and Bridges, Government of Nagaland, inaugurated the newly constructed Sukhai Village Council Panchayat Bhavan building on December 16, 2024. The Sukhai Village Council was constructed under the centrally sponsored Scheme of Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) 2023-24, implemented by the RD Block, Satakha.


Speaking at the inaugural function, Kaito emphasized the importance of Village Council Halls in every village for effective administration, facilitating public meetings, and addressing village administrative affairs.

The Minister highlighted his focus on grassroots infrastructural development and congratulated the village community on the successful inauguration of the new Sukhai Village Council Hall building. He urged them to continue contributing to and cooperating with government agencies for further infrastructural development.

Kaito expressed his gratitude to the Department of Rural Development, Nagaland, for prioritizing rural infrastructural development in the region. He also mentioned that under the Prime Minister’s initiatives for tribal affairs, the construction of Village Council Halls in tribal areas has also been included, and he anticipates more infrastructural development in the region he added.

The Minister stated that he is committed to completing the ongoing construction of intermediate roads from Zhekiye to Satoi block. He informed that the Satakha to Vishepu blacktopping of road construction will be completed within eight months. Additionally, he stated that the Vishepu to Phek inter-district road construction is also a priority.

Kaito stressed the importance of quality education at the primary level, mentioning the state government’s efforts to rationalize government schools. He urged the village community to focus on primary schools and prioritize community development through collective efforts.

The Minister concluded by emphasizing the need for collective efforts in village community development to achieve a better quality of life.
