Mokokchung, 16 December (MTNews): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) appreciated the personnel of Mokokchung PS-1 for arresting two persons namely SS Dy. Kilonser Imlisowa of NSCN-IM, aged 54 years, of Mongchen village, and Meyiwati, aged 34 years of Chakpa village, at around 1500 Hrs for carrying out extortion in Mokokchung town.
“The prompt and proactive role of the police force in ensuring safety and security to the public is of paramount importance and the MCCI salutes the Mokokchung Police for always living up to their role and fulfilling their critical mandate,” MCCI said in a statement.
MCCI also demanded that the money extorted by the two accused from innocent traders in Mokokchung before their arrest be immediately handed over to the victims.
Further, the MCCI cautioned all its members “not to entertain any individual or group seeking any kind of contribution in cash or kind without the endorsement of the MCCI office.”
