Mokokchung, March 15 (MTNews): The 7th edition of the Master Shield Trophy organized by the Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation on game day 3 ended with Dynamic Sports Active and Team Fuzz registering wins at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The first match of the day was played between Dynamic Sports Active and Skylark CC where the former won the toss and elected to bat first. DSA’s Andrew and Shamphri were the top contributors for the side as they posted 34 and 22 runs respectively. DSA scored a total of 102 for 9 wickets in 19.3 overs with Skylarks’ Akavi and Moakumzuk taking out 4 and 2 wickets each.
Starting the run chase, Skylarks’ Vijay and Moakumzuk posted 26 and 20 in an attempt to win the match but were in vain as DSA’s Chaman and Raja Lama troubled the side taking out 4 and 2 wickets each ending the Skylarks’ inning at 86 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Dynamic Sports Active won the match by 16 runs with Chaman being awarded the man of the match title.
In the second match of the day played between Team Fuzz and All Starz 11, the former won the toss and elected to bat first. Team Fuzz’s trio of Sunep, Sanjay and Upendar humbled the All Starz bowlers as they posted 36, 35 and 37 runs each contributing to the total of 182 for 8 wickets in 20 overs. All Starz’ Sentiakum was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.
During the run chase, a lackluster performance by the inexperienced All Starz side handed Team Fuzz an emphatic win. The run chase ended at 16 overs with just 58 runs on the board, 33 of those coming from the bat of Temjen. The match saw Team Fuzz’s Upendar being awarded the man of the match title.
With the league matches over, Team Fuzz will face Skylark and Dynamic Sports Active will face Trebuchet CC at the semi finals on 16 March.
