The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on July 30 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, with Minister for Rural Development and SIRD Metsubo Jamir, Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung, in the chair.

The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by deliberation on the Action Taken Report.
The board approved the registration of three societies: Life Anew Foundation, Unger village; Mokokchung District Disabled Association; and Langpangkong Development Board, Chuchuyimlang.
The board also discussed the status of incomplete Centrally and State-sponsored departmental projects across the district, construction of welcome gates at the Tsutapela and Tuli State borders, and progress of the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ).
The meeting reviewed the status of the Circuit House in Mokokchung and evaluated LADP Iconic Projects implemented between 2019-20 and 2025-26. LADP schemes for 2026-27 were also approved.
Other matters discussed included financial support for the upcoming Dr. T. Ao Inter-District Football Tournament Silver Jubilee 2026, the district’s disaster situation, and funds collected for Nikshay Mitras under the TB Mukt Bharat initiative. Responsibilities for the August 15 Independence Day celebrations were also finalised.
The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) later made a PowerPoint presentation on its ongoing departmental activities and community initiatives.
Advisor for Information and Public Relations (IPR) and Soil and Water Conservation Daochier I. Imchen also attended the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung.
