A district-level orientation-cum-meeting on the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026-27 was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Mokokchung on June 2.

The programme was chaired by Project Director, DRDA, Mokokchung, Imyapangla, while Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, delivered the keynote address.
Addressing the participants, Verma said the Gram Panchayat Development Plan is a participatory, inclusive and convergent planning process that requires the active involvement of all stakeholders. He urged all line departments to work in close coordination to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes for holistic, need-based and sustainable village development.
Highlighting the importance of inter-departmental collaboration, he encouraged departments to contribute their schemes, programmes, technical expertise and available resources through a convergent approach so that development plans effectively address the priorities and aspirations of villages.
District Programme Manager (RGSA), DRDA, Mokokchung, Imchatemsula Changkiri, presented a PowerPoint presentation on the importance of inclusive planning, community participation, transparency and convergence in preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plans.
During the interactive session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-departmental convergence for the effective preparation and implementation of GPDPs.
In her concluding remarks, Imyapangla said that while the Rural Development Department serves as the nodal department for the People’s Plan Campaign, “the success of the GPDP requires the active participation, coordination and ownership of all line departments.” She thanked the participants for their contributions and urged departments to continue working together to ensure effective and inclusive grassroots planning.
