Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S Supongmeren Jamir, today held a crucial meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, and the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Jakhama to assess the ongoing situation in the landslide-affected area of Phesama village under Kohima district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the MP of the prompt actions being undertaken in coordination with the Village Council of Phesama and the affected landowners to ensure early clearance and restoration of the blocked roads. Jamir expressed concern over the disruption caused to commuters and stressed the need for expedited measures.
A significant part of the discussion also focused on the ongoing challenges related to the bypass road connecting Packages 1 to 4. The district administration informed that serious efforts were being made to resolve the issues by engaging with the respective landowners, contractors, and officials from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
Jamir acknowledged the efforts of the administration and urged for collaborative and time-bound action to ensure road connectivity is restored at the earliest, considering its importance to the public and regional transport.
