Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament and President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), was the chief guest at the 23rd Nokhu Range Public Organization (NRPO) program at Langnok Village, Noklak district, on January 16, 2025.
Speaking at the event, Jamir said, “A true believer is one who promotes peace. We should always choose peace and avoid creating conflicts among ourselves.” He praised the Nokhu Range for preserving traditional practices and remaining self-reliant. “No matter how much progress comes, we should never lose our self-reliant nature,” he added.
Referring to the event’s theme, “Progressive Society,” Jamir encouraged the community to grow politically, economically, religiously, and in education. He reminded the people to vote wisely, saying, “Your one vote can shape a progressive society. Choose honest and capable leaders.”
Jamir described his election victory as part of God’s plan, crediting the prayers of churches, pastors, and church workers for the unexpected outcome. He also mentioned the role of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), which did not participate in the last election, calling it “God’s will.”
He promised to support future achievers from the Nokhu Range by offering Rs 50,000 to any bureaucrat, Rs 25,000 to any entrepreneur, and Rs 25,000 to theologians pursuing a Master’s in Theology in 2026 and 2027.
