The Government of Nagaland has appointed Tongpang L Jamir as the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities under the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
According to an official notification, the appointment was made in terms of Section 79(1) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and was approved by the Governor of Nagaland on the recommendation of the Search-cum-Selection Committee.
The notification stated that Jamir will assume office from the date he takes charge. He will function as the head of the establishment of the State Disability Commission.
His tenure will be for a period of three years or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
As per the order, he will draw salary under Level 20 of the Pay Matrix of the Nagaland Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2017, along with all allowances admissible to state government employees.
The notification was issued by Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland.
