Nagaland has been awarded the first position in Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBU) of children at the Aadhaar Samvaad 2025, held on April 8 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

According to a DIPR report, the recognition comes as a result of intensive enrolment drives led by the Commissioner of Nagaland, who also serves as the Registrar for Aadhaar in the state, along with the active involvement of Deputy Commissioners across districts.

Registrar for Aadhaar, Nagaland, KS Anden Konyak, IAS, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all Deputy Commissioners for their relentless efforts. He credited the achievement to their continuous and dedicated work in driving up the number of child biometric updates across the state.
