Vellore, 21 August (MTNews): The annual Convocation of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and the Inauguration of Building at VIT campus was held in Chennai on 21 August 2023 with the Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan as the Chief Guest. The program celebrated the graduation of students from various UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in fields such as Engineering, Technology, Science, Humanities, Management, and Law.
During the event, Governor La Ganesan congratulated the graduates, highlighting the significance of the Convocation as a milestone in their lives. He emphasized that it marks the transition from academic life to the real world, where the graduates will apply their knowledge and face challenges. The Governor encouraged the students to embrace different stages of life and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and personal growth.
Governor La Ganesan urged the graduates to approach their careers with determination, teamwork, and consistency. He spoke about the opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation in the current era, urging the graduates to consider becoming job creators. He emphasized the qualities of a good leader and stressed the importance of contributing to the nation’s development.
The event included the distribution of degree certificates and medals by the Chief Guest, as well as the inauguration of two new buildings on the campus. The Governor inaugurated the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Block and the Swami Vivekananda Block, with Balu Chaturvedula from Walmart Global Tech also present as a Guest of Honour.
Vice Chancellor Rambabu Kodali delivered the welcome address, and other university officials participated in the program. The event concluded with the Governor’s message of encouraging the graduates to nurture positive thoughts, strive for success, and contribute to their country’s growth while staying connected to their cultural heritage.
The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to Governor,Nagaland, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS along with the Raj Bhavan , Kohima officers.
