Mokokchung, 21 September (MTNews): Union Minister of Health, Family Welfare, Chemicals, and Fertilizers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will formally inaugurate the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR) in Kohima.
Confirming the news on Thursday, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Called on @mansukhmandviya to discuss the formal inauguration of NIMSR. Grateful for his willingness to attend the inaugural function of Nagaland’s first medical college and his positive response to our request to convert it into a Central Regional Institute like NEIGRIHMS or RIMS,” Rio tweeted.

The admission of the first batch of 100 MBBS students at NIMSR, the state’s inaugural medical college, began in August. NIMSR successfully filled 85 seats with candidates from Nagaland, while the remaining 15 seats were allocated through the All India Quota.
Nagaland Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse and several other ministers and advisors met with the Union Minister on Thursday in New Delhi.
