Mokokchung, January 6 (MTNews): A Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) for NCC cadets from schools and colleges affiliated to 25 Naga Bn NCC is underway in Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. Around 250 cadets from the districts of Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Shamator, Noklak, Woks, Phek, Peren, Chumukedima and Kiphire are participating in the camp.

 

 

The cadets on arrival were screened for Covid before being allowed into the camp. A team from the Blood Centre, District Hospital, Mokokchung headed by Dr H Tsipongchem Sangtam carried out blood group testing of the cadets and handed out their blood group cards.

 

The opening address was delivered by Col CST Swamy, Camp Commandant. The basic tenets of discipline and the importance of various training activities planned for the cadets was highlighted by the officer. Lt Col Pradosh and a number of Associate NCC Officers and Permanent Instructor Staff attended the event.

 

A lecture was delivered by Molodongba, President, Mokokchung Voluntary Blood Donors Association on the benefits of blood donation. He highlighted the fact that it is only the surplus blood in the body that is donated and that the donors do not have any negative side effects on donating blood.

 

Athili, Chief Manager of Financial Inclusion Division, State Bank of India Mokokchung, spoke to the cadets about financial literacy and explained the benefits of opening a savings bank account. The importance of savings, investing, internet banking and mobile banking were explained at length by the Chief Manager. Various schemes like Atal Pension Yojana and Atal Bhima Yojana were showcased by the bank staff.

 

While speaking to the press, the Camp Commandant informed that various activities like PT, Yoga, Drill, Weapon Training, Map Reading, Sports and Games are being organized for the participants. The CATC will go on till January 12.
