Mokokchung, February 12 (MTNews): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM Y Patton in a video message released on Sunday asserted that the NDPP-BJP coalition was “rock solid” and that the coalition will win the upcoming election with a “thumping majority.”

The video message, which undoubtedly was a show of unity, left many observers wondering what necessitated them to release it.

Rio said that with the NDPP-BJP seat sharing formula, “the campaign indicates that we will be getting a thumping majority.” Rio said, “There are some confusion about the rebel candidates but I appeal to all the voters that you please vote for the alliance NDPP and BJP and we will form the next government with a thumping majority.”

Patton echoed the CM by saying that “After this 2023 elections, we are going to form government with a thumping majority under the leadership of our honorable chief minister, Shri Neiphiu Rio and we will come up with the development and peace in the state of Nagaland.”

BJP National Secretary, Rituraj Sinha and NDPP secretary general Abu Metha were also seen in the video.

“NDPP:BJP Coalition Rock Solid. CM @Neiphiu_Rio appeals to voters to cast their vote in favour of candidates contesting on BJP&NDPP tickets. Requests people of Nagaland to ignore rebel candidates who are misguiding. NDPP-BJP fully cooperating & supporting each other’s candidates…,” Sinha later said in a tweet.
