The Nagaland Super League (NSL) has officially wrapped up its inaugural season, marking a historic milestone as the state’s first professional football league. In a press release issued by the Nagaland Football League (NFL), organizers expressed “deep appreciation to all who contributed to its successful launch and execution.”
The NFL extended gratitude to participating clubs, players, and coaches for their “discipline, dedication, and outstanding performances,” saying their efforts have set a strong foundation for the league’s future.
Acknowledgment was also given to match officials, coordinators, and technical teams for their professionalism in ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament.
The NFL also thanked the Government of Nagaland and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for their steadfast support of sports development, as well as the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, the Nagaland Olympic Association, and the Nagaland Football Association for their contributions to the league’s successful execution.
The NFL also acknowledged the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and its President, Kalyan Chaubey. It also thanked the Chümoukedima and Kohima Village Councils and the local communities for their cooperation and support in facilitating league activities and hosting matches.
The NFL also thanked its corporate partners and official broadcasters, the media and press, and the fans.
“The success of this inaugural season reflects the growing potential of football in Nagaland. We remain committed to nurturing this platform and look forward to building on this momentum in the seasons ahead,” the NFL concluded.
