Mokokchung, 2 June (MTNews): In an effort to create awareness and provide valuable insights into project guidelines, General Financial Rules (GFR), and internal audit perspectives in sponsored and collaborated projects, a webinar titled “Project Management: Guidelines, Financial Proprietary and Audit Perspective” was conducted on 1 June 2023.

 

The event, held online, targeted the Heads of Departments, Project In-charges, and administrative staff of Nagaland University.

 

The webinar commenced with a warm welcome address from Dr. Abemo, Registrar of Nagaland University, setting the tone for the informative sessions that followed. Prof. J K Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an introductory speech, emphasizing the importance of effective project management.

 

Pitoho Chophy, IAAS, Principal Accountant General (A&E), Nagaland, was the guest of honor, and he enlightened the participants with a short speech on the topic of the program. Prof. Temjensosang, Director of the Research and Development Centre (RDC), provided a short synopsis on project guidelines, accountability, and their significance. N Albert Khizho, Finance Officer, delivered a speech on GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and its practical applications in project management.

 

The webinar consisted of two technical sessions. The first technical session, conducted by Angunuo Khieya, Deputy Registrar Finance/DDO, focused on the General Financial Rules (GFR) of 2017. The second Technical Session was conducted by CA Priyanka Sengar, Internal Audit Officer on Audit outlook and perspectives in sponsored and collaborated projects.

 

Dr Suraj Beri, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, served as the compere for the webinar. The webinar consisted of participants including members of all the 4(four) campuses of the Nagaland university and was attended by around 150 participants.

 

The webinar concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to engage in discussions, provide feedback, and pose questions to the speakers. Kahoshe Sumi, Deputy Registrar (Finance & GAD), delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and organizers for their valuable contributions to the success of the event.
