Peren: Tobacco Free Awareness Program held

Peren, January 31 (MTNews): A ‘Tobacco Free Awareness Program’ was held today at CMO Conference Hall, Peren.

 

 

Dr Lanuakum, Deputy CMO, Peren spoke about the aims and objectives of the campaign and the harmful effects of smoking and the danger of second hand smoke in public places, government offices and homes. He also talked about the provision of section-4 of COTPA 2003 which bans smoking in public places.

 

He also urged the participants to stay away from the things that can harm our health and the environment. He encouraged the participants to do away with the use of tobacco. He also motivates the participants to be the living example not to indulge in tobacco products. He said Tobacco use has predominantly negative effects on human health and concern about health effects of tobacco has a long history.
