In a recent opinion piece (‘Ram Mandir Ayodhya aur Naga Samaj), published in the Morung Express on 18 January 2024, Jagdamba Mall, a longstanding Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak with over four decades of engagement in Nagaland, made a noteworthy claim about Nagaland’s contribution to the Ram Mandir fund.

Despite being a Christian-majority state and dealing with “Christian terrorist and separatist movements since the 1950s”, Nagaland, according to Mall, has made a significant financial contribution to the construction of the Ram Mandir.

Mall revealed that numerous businessmen, contractors, suppliers, and builders, including members of the Naga community, have generously donated towards the cause. Politically, several Naga leaders, upon being approached by RSS, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, and VHP workers, contributed substantial amounts. Key political figures mentioned in Mall’s claim include Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who donated Rs 20 lakhs, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton with a contribution of Rs 11 lakhs, Deputy CM TR Zeliang offering Rs 5 lakhs, and National Vice President of BJP M Chuba Ao contributing Rs 25 thousand, among others.

Mall also highlighted the “ancient link” between Nagas and Bharatavarsh. He wrote, “When the Pandavas were in agyatvas (incognito exile), Arjun—the greatest archer—married a Naga damsel, Ulupi. Aniruddh, the grandson of Lord Krishna, married another Naga beauty, Usha, from Wokha. It is believed that Wokha is derived from Usha.”

In recognition of his decades-long dedication to Nagaland, Jagdamba Mall was awarded the ‘Karmayogi Award 2023’ at a special function held at Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi, on 11 December.

Organiser.org reports that Mall, a resident of Gorakhpur, has dedicated “nearly half a century to Nagaland, working tirelessly to integrate the state with the mainstream of Bharat.”

“His efforts gained particular significance during the peak of terrorism in Nagaland, where he stood steadfast in promoting the cause of nationalism, earning respect and influence among the youth,” it added.

  1. My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!

  2. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?

  3. Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Thanks a lot
