In response to the NDPP Mokokchung Region president’s comments on the news of 17 officials of the party resigning from both primary and active membership, which was carried in this newspaper on Sunday, the resigned officials in a rejoinder said that the president’s statement was “unfortunate and unwanted.” They also said, “His regret of his colleagues resignation is totally a betrayal to his fellow Party men and women in the Region because, he himself offered the post on 8th Nov. 2021 in the Region Meeting as he will be vacating his existing post.”

The rejoinder also clarified that the NDPP Central Election Commission “on its final say was openly declared on 23rd Nov. 2021 by the then Election Commission declaring the approval of all Election Committee submitted list and thereby, the appointment order will be intimated at the earliest.” They also said that the president saying it was “Unexpected” of the 17 to resign was “his creation with few vested people manipulating the consensus decision of the Region.”

“The 17 Region Official feels so sorry that a person of high caliber holding the post of the Region President for consecutive two tenures does not have any knowledge of the Constitution of his party,” they said, and cited “Article IV Clause G Section I to V” of the party constitution. “Whereas, tendering of Resignation Officially to the President NDPP Nagaland will confirm his doubt if any,” they said.
