Defending champions Revenant FC moved to the top of the points table after gameweek 10 of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League, played at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Saturday.
The first match was played between News Ecclesia FC and Wasang FC. The game was completely dominated by Wasang FC, as the scoreline ended at 3-0. Wasang FC started off with an early lead by scoring in the first minute through Chubayanger. They furthered their advantage as the game progressed, with Repamayang and Imliwapang scoring in the 41st and 68th minutes respectively, sealing Wasang’s victory.
Revenant FC, the defending champions, played against Senso FC in the second match. The match turned out to be another one-sided encounter as Revenant FC drubbed Senso FC, who initially took the lead early in the game by scoring in the 16th minute through Habemo. However, their lead was short-lived as Revenant FC equalized through Tongpang in the 32nd minute, followed by a barrage of goals from Aoluin and Rongsenchiba, ending with a scoreline of 6-1.
After today’s match, Revenant FC stands at the top of the points table with a total of 25 points, the same as Wasang FC but with a superior goal difference. Significantly, today’s match marked Senso FC’s 10th consecutive loss in the season, having conceded 32 goals already.
The final match of the day showcased another thrilling encounter between Trebuchet FC and Terokroker FC. The match started with a goal from Terokroker in the 19th minute by Imliyapang, and Terokroker continued to score another in the 36th minute from Temsuwati, giving them the advantage. In the second half, Terokroker FC scored yet another goal in the 57th minute, thanks to Imliyapang. Trebuchet FC managed to narrow the goal gap by scoring in the 64th minute, but their efforts were futile as the game ended with a scoreline of 3-1.
With the end of the match, Terokroker FC had a total of 15 points, earning them third place on the points table.
