Since she was a child, she had a passion for creating crafts by hand. She recounted how her friend had consistently urged her to start a business after witnessing her skill and originality in finishing pieces.

Anung remembers her uncle as saying, “Government jobs are nowhere to be found, and the only way to get rid of unemployment is whether you can do something with your hands.”

She also recalls her uncle telling her, “You are doing a great job teaching youngsters today to trust in their own abilities and not depend on government employment.” Then, on June 22, 2022, she decided to start her own business on Instagram under the name handmade_by_pansy

Anung stated that she created the pieces in accordance with the fad and that the customer provided honest comments as a result. She draws ideas for her beaded designs from online runway events and the internet. Everyone aspires to be creative, and she said, “I like to try new things, which is difficult but gratifying in the end.”

She added that pressure inevitably develops when the clock is ticking and the customer delivery deadline is drawing near. To help relax, she said that she tries to tackle it by taking a ride and helping her unwind.

Recalling her initial experiences where she had to customize bags with identical designs, Anung admitted that she had struggled but usually after only about two days of attempts, she was eventually able to create the distinctively customised bag.

She informed that, aside from Sundays, she reserved two to three hours each day after class to start planning the clients’ orders and prepare designs.

When asked what her favourite handcrafted piece was, she replied, “My favourite jewellery would have to be thigh chains; they appeal to me, and from my perspective, not many local businesses have created one.” Also, there are transparent semi-precious bags, which stand out owing to their transparency and have a unique appearance, she added.

She sends out the message that she wants people to be inspired and let their talents show. “It never hurts to give anything another shot. Never give up on your dreams because they take time to bloom.”
