The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed “deep sorrow and regret” over the passing of Dr T Senka Yaden, a distinguished scientist, educator, and researcher. Recognized in the prestigious American Men and Women of Science and popularly known as the “American Man of Science,” Dr Yaden’s contributions to the fields of science and education have left “an indelible mark, inspiring generations,” the AKM said.

In a statement, AKM acknowledged Dr Yaden’s “dedication to knowledge and research,” calling it “a source of pride for the Ao community, the Naga people, and the Global Scientific Community.”

The organization emphasized that his “remarkable academic journey and professional achievements reflect his dedication and hard work.” His passing is not only a loss to his family and loved ones but also to the “Scientific and Academic Community.”

As a tribute, AKM has requested that “all schools and educational institutions under the jurisdiction of Mokokchung District observe one minute of silence on March 17, 2025, as a mark of respect and remembrance for his valuable contribution towards the people.”

“In this time of grief, AKM extends our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, his wife, and all those mourning his departure. We pray that God grants them strength and solace in this difficult time,” the statement added.

LKM condoles
The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) expressed sorrow  and dismay at the passing of Dr. Senkalong Yaden, “a distinguished scientist  hailing from Merangkong village, an esteemed figure and a beacon of  wisdom for Langpangkong range”.

“Dr. Yaden, revered as the “Man of Science,” was a stalwart in the pursuit of  knowledge and an advocate for the aspirations of the Naga people,” LKM said, adding that his demise is an irreparable loss to the  community and beyond.

LKM also said that his  tenure as President of the Naga National Council (NNC) was marked by  unwavering commitment to the principles of justice and self-determination.

“His contributions, both in the scientific domain and in public service, have  left an indelible legacy that shall continue to inspire generations to come,” LKM added.

“The Langpangkong Students’ Conference conveys its deepest condolences  to the bereaved family, friends, and well-wishers. In this moment of grief,  we stand in solidarity with them, praying for strength and solace as they  navigate this profound loss,” LKM conveyed.

Supongmeren Jamir mourns

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S Supongmeren Jamir has expressed sadness at the news of passing of of Dr Senkalong Yaden, on 15th March, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, USA.

In a message, Jamir described Yaden as “an accomplished scholar and academic, a devoted family man and a principled person till the very end,” adding that his demise “is an irreparable loss not just to his family, but also to untold lives and communities here in Nagaland and in the USA.”

Extending condolences to the bereaved family, Jamir also prayed that the soul of the departed rest in peace.
