The 8th ABAM Women Conference concluded at Impur on Sunday after three days of worship, fellowship and community service under the theme “Organizing the Kitchen” from Ephesians 4:16.
Held from August 7 to 9, the conference brought together 1,083 women, including 158 widows, from 167 churches and 10 fellowships under the ABAM community.
The conference featured addresses by Rev. Temsu Jamir, Executive Secretary of ABAM, Dr. Tsuknungrenla, Associate Professor, Clark Theological College, Aolijen, and T. Arenla Longkumer, Secretary, ABAM Women’s Ministry. Their messages focused on stewardship, nurturing roles and the importance of order and care in families and society.
Women Secretary of NBCC, Katoli V. Sumi, urged participants to “uplift and help each other”, particularly drawing attention to widows across the state who require support and compassion.
A special meeting with widows was held on Sunday afternoon, where Limanaro of MTBA shared her experiences and reflections, offering encouragement and solidarity to participants.
The programme included testimonies, a play titled “Life Stream or River”, talent presentations and recreational activities. On August 8, delegates also undertook a community cleaning drive, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship.
The final day began with a Prayer Festival from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., setting a spiritual tone for the closing services. Special guest singer Tzuben Lung presented songs during the services, adding to the worship experience.
The conference concluded with renewed commitments to faith, service and community care, with organisers describing the gathering as a significant assembly of ABAM women.
